The Venue

San José El Viejo

Built in 1697 by the Jesuits, San José El Viejo is one of Antigua's most breathtaking historic venues — a compact baroque church with a covered barrel-vaulted nave, a beautifully ornate white stucco facade, and a lush manicured lawn framed by ancient stone walls. The hush of centuries lingers in every corner.

We chose this place because it feels like stepping into something ancient and alive all at once. The ceremony will unfold within the historic nave, surrounded by candlelight, lush greenery, and centuries of beauty.

Cocktail attire — think elevated garden party. We'd love to see rich jewel tones, florals, and linen. Please avoid white and ivory.
January is Guatemala's dry season — perfect wedding weather. Expect warm sunny days around 24°C (75°F) and cooler evenings around 15°C (59°F). Bring a light layer for the night.
Most nationalities (US, Canada, EU, UK, Australia) do not need a visa for Guatemala for stays up to 90 days. Check our travel page for details.
